School of Psychology Hosts Summer Camp for High School Students

With Staying Focused: The Psychology of Attention, a partnership between the CEISMC Summer PEAKS program and the School of Psychology, 25 high school students from around the country gained conceptual and hands-on experience with the science of Psychology. Over the course of a week, students were given the opportunity to explore how attention affects our everyday behaviors, such as studying and driving, through demonstrations from researchers in the field as well as through developing small research projects of their own.

The School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology places strong emphasis on scientific research and discovery. The School categorizes this research into five program areas: cognition and brain science, cognitive aging, engineering psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and quantitative psychology. The School of Psychology maintains excellent research and educational interactions within the College of Sciences and with other scientific and technological disciplines on campus.
